Good Morning from the frozen state of Indiana.
I have recently aquired a Perfect Flame propane smoker. Lowes had a clearence and I couldn't say no!

I smoked bone in porkchops last week and they were very good. Not too keen on the rub I used....but the meat was good.

This saturday I am smokin' about 13 lbs of pork butt. Tail gate party on Sunday.......anyway, I posted on another location that I am seeking an authentic NC Rub and bbq recipes. Eastern and Western.

Looking forward to reading!!
Laura

Welcome, my Dad was from Indiana. We used to go there as kids. Boy did we eat good! I started a recipe page for smokers (http://www.rednecksmokehouse.com ). I only have 4 recipes in it right now so if you have a good one put it on. I cook all the new recipes just to try them out. By-n-by, these are the greatest smoke people on the web here. Post some pic of your party. Have fun smoking.

Remember, Where’s there smoke, there’s SUPPER.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.
Welcome To Your New Addiction

There are several members on here that would most likely send you a sample of thier rubs, just for the asking. It makes more sense to go that route than to go buy a lot of expensive spices you may never use!
And, If you look in the seasoning section of your Mkt., you will see things like Emril's Spices in different flavors, as well as other brands. This can give you a direction to go and maybe later work on a mix that YOU and the FAMILY enjoy.Mixing you're own is a 'HOOT', and gives you bragging rights around the neighborhood too!!!!
Good luck,good Smokes and
SMOKE HAPPY
