Last summer a good friend of ours that has a habit of buying great stuff/toys, using them a short period of time, and then selling them in a garage sale for next to nothing but still in like new condition was selling a CG-SFB. The cover looked like it was right out of the box. Come to find out he'd been trying to sell it for a couple yrs and had a price tag of $50 on it. I told him when the price came down to $25 to call me. He and I Dutch Oven cook together often and he said if I cook him a couple good smoked meals I could have for $25. That's how I come to get into Smokin'. I know nothing 'cept what I've learned in the last week lurking around Forums, Santa has bought me a TE-73, I know about the modifications needed for my smoker, and you guys are gonna teach me the rest. Thanks for letting me be a Member of your family and I look forward to feeding this new addiction...

Looks like it worked out great for you, got it for a great price AND you have spare excuses to fire it up sine he requested some good smoked meats.

Welcome To Your New Addiction

Welcome to SMF. Glad that you were finally able to get on the forum.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I've been a member of fishing Forums for yrs, Super Mod one of them, and while all of those guys are great for helping out, sometimes getting "exact technical ideas/results" is like pulling teeth (a fisherman's thing) that isn't the case here. Had I known of the site prior to late fall and putting things away in storage for winter, I'd have that CG a smokin' by now. This site is fantastic with all the Qview and write-ups, technical info, and just plain down to earth open-arms friendly.

Hats off to you guys/gals...really...
