Hello All!

I'm a fairly new cook, received a Masterbuilt electric smoker for Christmas this year, and have to say it's certainly one of the best gifts ever! I've popped in on this site a few times when searching for online tips and recipes, so I thought I may as well join in the community. Really just getting into cooking this spring/summer, especially since I am around Dodge City, KS for the summer on an internship - gives me something to do on weekends.  I'm also an avid K-Stater!

So far this summer I've done some chicken pieces, a beer chicken (because why not??), a pork roast, and doing my 3rd brisket as I type.  I also got curious and am trying some potatoes from some of the tips on the forums.  I have some pics to upload sometime.

Looking forward to spending some more time reading around here!

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Thanks.

Also most of my recipes also derive from Weber's Smoke - a Guide to Smoking book.  It just has a few basics but is a nice start for a beginner like me.  I've slowly modified a few of the recipes to my liking.

Good afternoon and welcome to the Forum, sounds like you are off to a good start and congrats on your smokes
