Guess I wont be doing any smoking the next 2 days

  1. Tropical Storm Irene is set to come within about 75 miles of here so starting in about an hour the fan will be busy spraying (if you know what I mean).  I had planned on doing some ribs today, but with the prep of the villa for the storm taking longer than expected I didnt have time to get it going early this morning...now it's too late as the rains have started.

Hanging on and hoping to stay dry...will be a good 24+ hours to sample the cheese I smoked last week!

somewhere out there is the other side of the bay, and a mountainside!  This isnt even the heavy stuff...sure glad Irene is just a TS and not anything stronger.  Smoke something for me would ya!??!

    We need rain here badly.

At this point I'd readily give up smoking for a couple of days for some good rain.

Although I know better than to ever wish for a hurricane to come through, a near miss would bring some much needed rain and possibly a day off work. Hang in there and hopefully there won't be any serious damage. I think this thing is definitely going to get stronger.

The track keeps moving east, it's getting stronger but I think it will be too far away from us to give us any much needed rain.

I wouldn't want to be in Bermuda.

My hopes are for just a minor 'light' brush of wind and NO damage to anyone or anything--need no more diasters..

  20. NEVER!!!!!

Well we made it thru just fine. Irene strengthened and started moving a bit North and hit us a little harder than anticipated, but no damage to our little slice of the world.  It became a hurricane after reaching Puerto Rico, so we hope that bee otch settles down and causes no one harm.

As for the tragedy of the whole thing...I decided to fire up the kettle this afternoon as the rain were subsided.  Ribs for dinner in a post storm celebration.

    oops....q view coming shortly!

    Thanks for the well wishes!
