Thank you all for the feedback.  The Big Block has been ordered (unfortunately I missed the $20 off coupon post).

Looking forward to trying it next week. I just started posting here, but have been smoking for a while with Char Broil Silver and Bradley.

Congrats thats a nice smoker

Going to pick up the GOSM medium. Was $148 on walmart.com....lowered to $130 after I ordered. Called them and they gave me a $32 refund so $116 plus free shipping to store. Ordered it online on Sunday and it arrived today...5 days total. It seems some folks do ok with the chip box and others go for the mod. Any tips for seasoning this thing. Also any recommendations for a newbie smoker???

Try giving them a call. Sometimes they'll credit your account if you play dumb and say you forgot to put in the code.

Hey, $20 will put a couple of racks of ribs in here for a trial run.

Most of us, well alot of us tossed the chip box and use a small cast iron skillet.  Find large enough to fit.  That way you've got a neat handle on the wood, so to speak.  Other recommendations:  SMOKE SOMETHING, take pictures and post them.  Best way I know how to "season" your GOSM.

Well.......here is the new GOSM assembled!!!!

hey guys, one quick questions for you guys, I have been smoking for quite a while now but this is my first gas smoker, always for me it has been the side fire box smokers.

this next saturday I need to make 4 packer briskets, do you guys think this has enough space for it or do I need to split?  I will receive mine by thursday.

It depends on which model you got as to whether they will fit without cutting and of course the size of the briskets

I ordered the BB from bass pro.  As for the brisket well, I just want to know if I can fit 4 of them in there, I don't care if I have to pick smaller briskets as long I don't have to cut them.

If you got the BB from Brass Pro you will have no problems fitting 4 big briskets in it

Haven't smoked in several years...used to have the old brinkman that rusted out years ago.  After stumbling across this great website today and previously noticing the GOSM at Wally World a few weeks ago, I had to order the one from Bass Pro Shop! lol

After a lot of grilling, I have to get back to smoking! It was an easy sell to the wife, especially after our crockpot pork Q today....all I had to do was mention - it would be nice to have a smoker again!!! LOL That was all it took, she agreed, and I think she meant I could buy one, so we'll see if she did when it is delivered about Wednesday this week!! LMAO  Looking forward to firing it up next weekend!
