Hello everyone! My name is Jess, I'm a Nurse & Paramedic in the MN/WI area. My hubby & I have just purchased a 40" Masterbuilt electric smoker with Bluetooth capabilities, & we are excited to try out new things. I was furiously checking & using your forums as a non-member for all of our questions (and there have been A LOT!), and I have been reading such awesome information and ideas on everyone's posts. I also saw that everyone seemed so friendly and willing to educate even the newest of newbies. I figured I could learn so much more as an actual member. Thanks for having me, and I look so forward to delectable, smoky goodness in my future!!!!

Welcome to SMF, Jess!

I guess you already figured out that this is the best smoking site on the internet!

Glad to have you aboard!

Welcome aboard Jess & her hubby! I'm a new member myself but I can attest to the helpfulness and friendliness of all on the site. Lots of great knowledge from veteran smokers.

Fair warning you two, this place can be habit forming !!!  Don't hesitate to ask for help or search for answers. It's all here. Get ready for a great adventure.

The weather is nice out today I hope you are out smoking!

Yes!!! Our first try. The cuts are a bit small, (budget-related), but we are trying beef brisket, prime rib, country-style ribs, and a pork tenderloin. With the smaller cuts, we're hoping we can try to avoid dry meats. We don't have any favorites yet for rubs or seasonings, so we plan to try numerous flavors. So excited!!!!

Sounds good! I just got my MES 2 weeks ago can't get enough of it! Hope it all turns out good I have some prime rib I may try this weekend as well

First Smoker Try Ever!! Prime Rib, at 225 degrees for 2 hrs and 50 minutes with hickory wood. We seasoned it with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and some Famous Dave's Steak Burger seasoning. Time got away from me, so we took ot out at an internal temp of 145. (Thought I ruined it). I let it rest for 30 minutes.

AND. IT. WAS. AWESOME.

Our success was a direct result of all of the awesome recommendations and advice we found on this site. Thank you, everyone! We are hooked!
