Give and recieve Points?

I've been a member for awhile now and I still see no way to give points to a poster.  How do I do that?

Click on the thumbs up icon in the lower right corner of the post, it's beside the "multi" quote button.

Another question:

Next to (just to the right of the thumb up) there is a number and a down arrow.  What does that do?  I haven't clicked on any because I didn't know if it took points away or what?  There is no description on that button.

It just tells who gave the point. Click on it and see. You won't hurt anything.

It tells you how many points have been given for that post. If you click the arrow you see who gave the points and any comments they made.
