Do ya have water in the water pan?
I've noticed when my water level gets low, my chamber temp starts to climb.

if you do have water in your pan open the vents. Matter of fact open the vent anyway about a 1/4 or more.. you must have air circulation.

What kind of thermometer are you using? The stock one that came with the unit is probable off. Check it with a digital therm. Holes in the top would help.I would use a vent cover to make the size of your hole on top adjustable.

Another option I think is an adjustable regulator like this:

0-30 Adjustable PSI Regulator

probably more expensive, but fewer parts
