My girlfriend love the little fried dough things coated with sugar at the Chinese restaurants, We were shopping the other day and I noticed these cans of regular size biscuits and tossed a couple cans in the cart.

The next time she came over I heated up some oil on the stove to about 350 and opened the can dropped them i the oil a few at a time they cook quick then turn over to brown both sides, maybe a minute total pull out and drain then put in a bowl with sugar and cinnamon to coat they turned out great.

Fried rolls are good too .  But then again most anything is great fried.

I'd second that, Bob!

Sopapia's were always my favorite growing up. But we didn't do the desert ones, we used them like a tortilla while eating chilli..... mmmmm!

Old g/f use to make sopapia's.  Fried dough filled with honey.

MMMMMmmmmmmmmmm

what's not to like about fried dough! we have sopapilla and frybread doughs in the freezer right now.

I haven't found many things that I don't like fried. I mean I have been to New York and there's a place http://www.chipshopnyc.com/  that will fry anything that won't mess up their frier's. Twinkies, pizza, hot dogs (Nathan's of course) and then I have seen a hamburger the whole thing.

I've even heard about people deep-frying Snickers bars!

Back on topic, though, the fried biscuits are really good.  Confectioner's sugar works good because regular sugar doesn't like to stick to them.  I like OP's idea about using some cinnamon, too.
