Well not exactly. Today I went into HD with the wife and she did her shopping and I did mine and mine included looking at and waiting til next week to collect money on a truck sale to buy the trailmaster smoker. The wife decided that I should have it today so she insisted and made an exception in the budget. I told the clerk that she will beat me up when we go out side if I don't do as she says and get it today. So they got one down and took it to the service desk and the wife says we can just as well take care of paying for it when she pays for her garden things. Meanwhile, I go get the truck to get the thing loaded. Before I can get to the door with the truck she comes out, loads her things and we go back to the service desk to get the smoker. Two employees load the thing and we drive off to her next stop. I tell her I need to call them to see if they have the expanded steel and to give the receipt for the smoker so I could get the ph number from it. She says she hasn't got hat receipt and that I have it! I strongly begged to differ. But she insisted that I paid for it and therefore I should have the receipt! My heart sank, we were a mile from the store and we realized that we had a breakdown in communication. Seems she paid for her things at the garden dept. register, thinking that I said I would pay for the smoker and get the truck. So I rushed back to the store and told the lady at the desk what had happened and they had no idea they loaded it without looking at my receipt. She thanked me for my honesty and I paid the tab! The lady thanked me again and I told her that that first chicken I planned on breaking it in with would be more like eating road kill it in me I guess. The wife agreed. I never should have mentioned my near wind fall to the person I visited with later in the day. Anyhow, I have the TMLE at home still in the truck til tommorw. It cost me $300.00 but man I got a good deal and a clear conscience to go with it. Man that smoked yard bird is going to taste good!
