Got three logs of hickory from missouri about 6ft long and 6-8in across. Just cut and split a piece and it seems kinda wet inside. Darned hard wood Im tellin ya. This stuff was supposedly cut this spring. How long do I need to wait to use it? Also got a bunch of oak that was cut at the same time. It was already cut and split. It cooks great.

It always dries faster after it has been cut and split. Give it 6-9 months after you cut and split it.

Take care, have fun, and do good!

Regards,

Meowey

That sounds right. It will always cure faster split, and about 6 months should have it good and seasoned and the bark should have fallen off by then also.
