Radish Tops yes they are eatable, had some with Blue Cheese dressing,Smoked Pickled Eggs,Radishes sliced thin, olives, and Tomatoes

Radish Tops taste like a cross between Lettuce and Baby Spinach

If this is in the wrong spot please move and excuse me.

  2. Are we seeing a new "vegan/vegetarian" in training? [IMG]

Eating all these green things is against the general rules/guidelines of SMF... [IMG]

This is something we would have here in CA... [IMG]

Besides, anything with blue cheese dressing is going to be good!!!

I truly hope your eggs are the boneless variety... [IMG]

Eggs are pre-chicken, and considered vegetarian. [IMG]

I was a vegetarian for better than 13 years(in a past life [IMG]  ). [IMG]

The blue cheese dressing excludes the vegans too...

Cheese was the reason I couldn't do the vegan thing...

As it is now, I have to hide the fact something's vegan before my gf tries it... [IMG]

Otherwise it's an instant ewwwwwwwww and she won't touch it... [IMG]

  5. You should also try beet tops and dandelion greens...

Yup, same ones that take over people's lawns... [IMG]

Both work great as salad fixin's.

Radish tops? Cool. Never tried eating them, but I will. Although I could eat grass if it had blue cheese and olive oil sprinkled on top.

No Thanks---Had Dandelion Greens many times when I was a Kid, because Dandelion leaves with Hot Bacon Dressing was a Must in a Pennsylvania Dutch Family, but this PA Dutchman will put the Hot Bacon Dressing on his Lettuce, because Dandelion leaves are Much Too Bitter!!![IMG]

  8. I've had the dandelion greens a couple of times and they weren't bitter at all. I'm told the secret is to use new leaves. Now, how the heck you tell neww from older or how new is "new", I have no idea. I did try to sample some from the yard and OMG them things are just nasty bitter.

Gonna have to give it a try, we eat a lot of salads.

We were vegetarians for most of our lives.

Then I bought a smoker!  [IMG]

  19. I have been known to toss radicchio onto my kettle for a little char. Just adds an additional layer of flavor... [IMG]
