Finally got to put my 18.5” 30-Gal UDS to the test.

Picked up a bottom round roast, and thawed out a Costco chuck, also tried my first SPAM smoke. Also, got to try a lil bit of the Tasty Licks free sample pack.

Thawed out chuck

Used a combo of Cookshack Brisket Rub, and 3 Little Pigs Memphis Style for the overnight rub http://s971.photobucket.com/albums/... Roast Spam/?action=view&current=IMG_5488.jpg

That night I threw some in my skillet, w/ some mushrooms and mushroom gravy, and poured over rice

I sampled the spam, and thought it was really good, surprising actually. My wife was apprehensive about it for some reason, so I brought into work and it was devoured. The Tasty Licks turned out well; the salt wasn’t as dominant post-cook. Here’s a healthy option I did with some leftovers…

Very nice Thunder. Never been a spam fan either but they sure do look good. Maybe I'll try one and serve it to friends when football starts and see what they think.

Dang that all looks great, even the spam.

Yup I'm a spam fan I admit. That 30 is rockin, I love mine even if it's a watt burner.

LOL, I was thinking, "What's healthy about all of that grease on those peppers?"  Then I got my answer, it was the meat and cheese that made it healthy.  :)
Hahah, aww c'mon, that was just a lil olive oil

I honestly didn't know if I was a Spam fan. After talkign to a co-worker, i found out it's just Pork Shoulder. Much better than I can say about most bologna's! Give it a try, if you'll eat pulled pork this should be considered as well. I was surprised

About once or twice a year I get a taste for spam.  It was probably because I was raised in the immediate post WW2 era.  Sorry, but I still like it once in a while whether hot or cold.

I think it was the original mystery meat.  I bet it kept a lot of GI's regular.  I didn't need it.  Breakfast in a stateside mess hall kept anyone regular who was dumb enough to eat it.  LOLOL

Good luck and good smoking.
