It's been a couple years since I've done any river or stream trout fishing. Most of our trout fishing up here is stocked stillwater lakes. Last time we did any of that type of fishing was North of Lake Superior in the tributaries near Thunder Bay for spring steelhead and resident brook trout.

I had a look and found some info on the areas you're mentioning, bleedred. Wow...

I have question, I noticed the probe was stuck through an apple? Can you explain why you do this. I also have GOSM....thanks in advance....

Thanks, Tuscon smoker. The probe was through the apple just to keep it off the grill so it would read the ambient temps accurately. Would usually use a potato (some folks use wood blocks with a small hole drilled through it, but all I had at the lake were apples... so I used one and it served the purpose.
