Decided to try a pork butt a couple weekends ago, just been too lazy to post the qview until now, turned out really well!

just after mustard/jeff's rub application

after a day in the ice box/celophane.

bit closer

After about 11 hours in the smoke and one hour rest, I used hickory/cherry mix.

different view

damn bone come CLEAN outta that pig, at this point I was gettin excited!

All pulled and mixed up with some finishing sauce

Hard to keep from bouncin up and down when you got this starin back at ya, jeff's sauce (which is daaaayum good) and a version of his slaw recipe, plated and ready to go.

bit closer version, I'm not sure how much qView is too much (if there is such a thing) Overall I was very happy with how it turned out, I know that pork butts are basically the kindergarten version of smoking, but for my money, there's nothing better!! thanks for looking.

Great job! Looking good for your first try! Keep em coming.

just have to go out for your first and it's not a kindergarden hunk of meat it's a good hunk of meat that you smoked very well. Now for that slaw it looks awesome too. But you missed when you went to put it on the PP and hit the plate and not the buns.

I will admit that I had a sandwich with the slaw on the sandwich to see what all the fuss was about, I think that bein as how it was a vinegar based slaw, I lost some of the bbq sauce taste in the vinegar (as a whole sandwich) It was darn good both ways though, it's funny cause I think the slaw got more of an ovation from my guests than the pork did.

That is a fine looking plate of food!!! congrats on your first pulled pork; my guess is you will do it again...very soon!!!
