First attempt at Tri Tip

    Well getting the smoker all fired up to try to do my first tri tip. seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Did some research and think im gonna smoke at 225 deg till i get an internal temp of 135-140. Im thinkin that should be a good time to pull it and wrap. then let it rest 30-45 mins. wish me luck.

    well got the smoker going just trying to stable out the temp. very windy here today in south dakota its being a pain in the butt

    well 2.5 hours in cooked faster than i thought. smoker chugging along almost time to pull and wrap in a blanket and put in a cooler.

    awesome smoke, wow that tri tip was tender and moist, forgot to take pics but wow im so full. and i pulled it at 142 cause i was trying to keep the clock right for supper time. ill be doing this alot more.

    ya i really liked it. plus the day kinda came around so it was a wonderful day smoking and watching jimmie johnson win lol.
