Well I finally got around to testing the Fantast meat thermometer I purchased at Ikea. It has a 40 inch braided steel cord on the probe. You can program a temp into it and it will beep when it reaches the temp. I did the boiling water test and it read 213 degrees. I can live with that especially for the price.
