I just got my package from JustPassingThru. I am starting to think I got the better end of the trade here.

Here is all Gene and his wife sent me, I think my postal delivery person will be out a few weeks with a broken back.

Pineapple Moorea Vinegar, Vanilla Coffee, Ground Coffee, Vanilla Perfume (My 4 year old daughter already took that), Vanilla Beans, Vanilla Powered Sugar, Vanilla Banana Jam, Guava Jam, Local Tahiti Honey, and finally some Pineapple Moorea Jam.

Thank you Gene, I will enjoy every bit of this shipment and pray yours will arrive sooner than later

Congratulations on your surprises from paradise~ Sounds like you have some excellent beginnings for some serious recipes and cookin'! Gotta love that Guava Jam....that's some good stuff.

Good for you!

Did an exchange with Gene a while back and he included a bottle of that pineapple vinegar, that stuff is great and really hard to come by here in the US.
I have tried it with some pico de gallo and in a finishing sauce for pp and it was GREAT with both.

Jay,

I'm glad it finally arrived! That is the longest it has ever taken to ship to the States, enjoy.

Jim, try googling pineapple vinegar, there are some receipes and I was suprised to learn it is made from the peels, I'm going to try and make some and compare it with the store bought.

I have to appologize to Gene for this long delay. I have finally had the pleasure of trying some of his items and shared them with my in laws.

The Guava Jam is outstanding...it tastes like a combination of Grapefruit and mango to me. The jar emptied itself on a combination of homemade bisquits and english muffins.
The Vanilla coffee was big hit, I was actually surprised that it didn't have a stronger taste of vanilla, it was the perfect combination of stronger coffee and a hint of vanilla. There is enough left to make 2 more pots with my parents at the end of this month.
Gene, can you help me out, still trying to think of a great use for your Pineapple Vinegar...I am thinking of making my BBQ sauce and trying it instead of red wine vinegar.
The Mother in law borrowed the vanilla powder sugar, she wanted to try it on some homemade donuts, I will let you know how good it is after the first of the year.

Thank you again for your exchange with me.

Hey Jay, I was lucky enough to get a bottle of the same pineapple vinegar from Gene and I have used it sparingly because it is so good I want to make it last.
2 things that I know are great with it...
One, make a finishing sauce for pulled pork but use pineapple vinegar instead of cider, it is amazing and works perfect with the pork.
Another thing that is good is to make a fresh salsa or pico de gallo and add some mango or pineapple to it and substitute the vinegar for the white vinegar.
I would highly recommend the finishing sauce though, it was out of this world delicious
