Anyone know the cost of the counterweight on the lid of the cookers?thinking of going with a 24x70.If it is to much I may skip it.I have already decided to save $90 and opt out of the Probe holes. Was going to have 2 on the main chamber and one on the vertical.Probably wont hurt to pull, what I am cooking and use regular meat thermometer..Any else here decided on your cookers to skip the holes also?

I wouldn't skip the probe holes. Using a maverick instead of opening to use a stick therm is so much easier and you can also keep up with the pit temp remotely. As far as the counterweight is concerned, why not reduce the length and add the cabinet doors? You would have better access, would not need a counterweight and you would actually have more net cooking area.
