Want to clean the pit this weekend, not so much the inside as Bud cleans that up very well after each cook, but the outside. Was wondering if ya'll think it would be safe to take a power washer to it, or do I run the risk of chipping some paint off?? What I really am trying to do is get the grease marks of the front under the door. Also should I rub the outside down with anything afterward???

Just my .02 cts worth Theresa, but how bout getting something like Dawn (anti-grease) dish soap and a brush, then rinsing it off with a hose? Just be careful and dont get any in the cooking chamber.

Sounds like a brush and some Dawn might be the smart way to go Geoff, thanks. I think I just want to play with the power washer today.....I'll find another victim for it..[IMG]

Probably a good idea. Bud said that the driveway, siding on the house, and that pretty new motor-home could use a power washing. [IMG][IMG]

Coincidence! Had Chad's Buckboard Bacon for breakfast yesterday also! Jane fried up a batch of the thicker bacon, close to ham. Outstanding. Hashbrowns, eggs, toast with applebutter. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Oh yeah. Some detergent dishwashing liquid and brushing should cut the grease buildup. Can't see how the powerwasher would hurt it, and if it did you can always touch up with a spraycan of high temp black.

Mike, I understand what you mean: We have duplicates of all kinds of things from mustard to bottled water to carving knifes.

By the way, Chad, that bacon was out of this world!!! Can't wait to make some more of that.

Looking forward to the comp in GR next weekend. Mean while, have a great weekend!
