I have a feeling a few people are going to wonder if this is really pork once they see the pics. I promise it was a chuck roast and never saw a (gasp) crock pot. It pulled just like a butt. I was shocked. I read where a few people complained that theirs wouldn't pull. I checked these two at 200 degrees after about 9 hours, and neither would pull. So, I re-wrapped in foil and put some more mop in there and put back on until they hit 215. About another hour. Anyway, they fell apart. These are for a super bowl party tomorrow, so I cooked a few chicken quarters b/c I had space and I was hungry. Came out good. It's still a shame that the skin looks so good, but feels like leather.

Very nice. Maybe thats it, sometimes you need to go higher. I have had some chucks not pull at all, some partially. Strange cut of meat. Next time I will try alittle higher temp.
As for the chicken, thats about normal unless you can get around a 350º cooking temp. I usually just pull mine to the gas grill when they reach 160º internal, they crisp up real nice there.

(And for White Cloud, if you read this post....qview taken with a Kodak camera.)

Yes, it was an easyshare. Works great for everything except closeups, as you can see. There is no manual focus that I can get to work well, and the autofocus is crap that close. But then, it's not designed for closeups.

BTW, the Q tasted great.

Looks like the pulled chuck came out great!

ppp..........it just looks like the flash didn't go off, cause i can't see the pulled meat at all.............and ALL my q-view is taken with a kodak digi

WD, you can't see either of the pulled pics? The close up or the whole pan?

i can see the pics...........a nice black blob........like the flash didn't go off.......i see the chicken just fine...........and the chucks right after rubbing........then two pics, that i can JUST barley make out summin........LOL......nw's

Dude, see if that helps you any. I edited the first post and brightened it up a bit, and it seems to look a bit better to me. I also took out the really close up, upon further inspection, it was just a really bad pic.

alot of cameras have that problem. Alot of times it is really low light that is keeping the camera from getting Auto focus lock. Try increasing your light OR your ISO setting on the camera, then bring your flash into play. Don't worry about moving back alittle too, you can always crop in on the image for your qview photo.
