Still had some of the wings left from our last cook out and thought I would try smoking them. Not quite enough of them for two, so found some legs on sale at WD and thought I would try my new smoking rack out. Used Memphis Rub on the chicken. [IMG]

Average smoker temp was 225º. At around 160 to 165º internal, I was gonna pull them and transfer to a hot grill. Charcoal or gasser will work.
Used a mixture of oak and hickory.

Almost 2 1/2 hours I removed the legs first. Nice color.

And added the wings to the tray. Wife wants her chicken DONE. So off to the hot grill.

Took the ABT's off the grill and threw on the chicken.

After 20 minutes on the grill, off they come. Nice and crispy. [IMG]

Dinners on. Fresh garden salad (still have tomatoes growing) yellow corn and chicken.
    Now where's my beer. [IMG]

You already know the jerked chicken response, so.....those are pretty cool racks. Where did you get them?

    Looks great BTW [IMG]

Looking good! How does that leg rack work for ya? I saw those at the Home Depot the other day and though about getting one myself, is it worth it?

Found them at a Home Depot or possibly a Lowe's while traveling thru Georgia. Think they were in the $7 to $8 area. They are suppose to hold wings or legs. They will hold 12 legs and I probably should have bought two if I planned on doing wings in them. How did they work?? Seemed great. I was worried that the juices might drain too easily, but the chicken was still super moist (no brining was done). Normally I do leg quarters, but I have seen sales on just legs as of late, so thought it would be a good purchase.

Well that settles it then, I saw them at Lowe's yesterday for $8 and will be stopping on the way home to pick one up. It just looks too cool and would be a good space saver in the smoker. Thanks,

A little confirmation here. I was out and about tody and had to hit both Lowes and Home Depot. So, I checked both store.

Lowes has the racks and they fold down close to flat for storage. Home Depot didn't have the rack not did they have much as I might have caught that store in an inventory change.

Lowes does seem to carry more bar-b-que stuff, much to my dismay. [IMG]
