Greetings,
I have a Brinkmann smoke and grill unit which uses charcoal. I would like to change it to using gas, as we have a Brinkman gas cooker, which looks like it would work nicely underneath. Is there a way to do this? If so, do I have to have a rack with lava rock on it(what is the purpose of the lava rock anyhow?) and do I need a different type of burner for the gas cooker? I do want to use the wood chips for smoking, so I am assuming I would need some kind of container for those above the gas burner.
I am hoping to try smoking a small turkey for Thanksgiving, so am anxious to get this modified if I can. Thank you!!

You can do anything that you want but my question is the cost. How much does a gas buner set up cost ? I don't know that answer and would it be cheaper to buy a gas smoker then to change a charcoal to gas. I would check your local gas company for the parts is pieces that you will need for the converestion.
