I just built a uds and had zero knowledge on how to use it. I took the courses and even bought the sauce and rub recipe. I did a late night smoke of a rack of ribs, and being totally honest with you, it was the best I've ever had. I changed the recipe a little, and will a bit more next time. but its an awesome starting point. You gave me a skill that impressed myself and my family

Good job on the UDS! But we gotta have qview for proof positive on those ribs. Congrats on jumping in to that drum smoker. OJT is what it's called.

That's the sweet thing about the 5-Day eCourse, this forum and all the fine folks that freely share their knowledge here-it allows you to take months if not years off your learning curve.

I agree totally, instead of having half descent results, possibly turning you off to smoking. You can make something very good the first shot. I'm sure ill be tweaking the recipe and smoke for years, making it something unique to me. I was so happy with the ribs from last night, I headed back to the store for another rack and a pork butt
