    Planning to smoke a pork butt for bq Wondering if anyone can help the wife wants the vinegar kinda of carolina barque. Does anyone have a good recipe . When would I add the ingredients before or after I smoke it

    Are you referring to the sauce itself? If you're making a sauce, the suggestion is to have it on the side, in case people want to add it to the meat. If you rub the butt down, prior to smoking, some people may enjoy the pulled pork for the taste, and not use sauce at all.
