Smoking a Boston butt this weekend have done numerous butts over charcoal never smoked one. Need some suggestions on prep, rubs, cook times, smoking wood type and any other info

Smoking is a bit more work , but still easy .

You can get wood chunks @ your local big box stores that sell lumber . Your choice is up to you , suggestions would be .... Cherry , Hickory , Oak and others ,

Plann your time and add a couple more hours (you can always wrap in foil and towels and placed in acooler . This will hold them at a good temp. for several hours .

Apply Rub generously and it will build you a nice Bark .

Remember time is your friend if used judiciously .
