Smoking a 4.88 lb shoulder and it stalled big time. It was 147 at 4 hours and in the last 5 hours has only gotten to 175. It is looking good but based on time I will pull it late tonight and we will have to eat it tomorrow. I did recheck with another probe just in case the other was off. Wow well, it will still be good tomorrow. I have come to the conclusion the the smaller one take longer to smoke the a larger one. It may be due to the fat vs meat, I do not know, but any time I have had one under 6# it stills to stall badly. Hmm think a beer may make it go faster lol

I smoked two four lb butts side by side yesterday. One stalled at around 150 for about an hour, then took off again. The other, literally just inches away, stalled just under 160 and stayed there for more than two hours. In the end, I was thankful. I took the one off at 200, let it rest and it was perfect timing for supper. Two and a half hours later, the second one was ready to come off to rest. Both were excellent. The second one is vacupacked and in the freezer for a rainy day.

Hang in there and make sure the cooler is stocked.

oh I am hanging in. I know what it will taste like. Part of the problem is I woke up late lol. But this will taste good tomorrow night too. Going to pull it then put in frig then heat up tomorrow

All a stall reaslly means is you get to spend more time next to your pit drinking beer. Not a bad way to spend the time.
