My name is Gleason and I'm a born and raised Texan currently living on the East Side of Dallas.  I've been grilling for a long time but got into smoking about two years ago.  I own a 22" Weber, 26.75" Weber and a Pit Barrel Cooker.  Started smoking with a Smokenator on the 26.75 Weber and have since acquired a Pit Barrel.  It's become a bit of an addiction and am hoping to graduate to a full sized wood smoker asap.  Glad to be a part of this forum and am looking forward to learning some new tricks.  I post a lot of my cooks on instagram as @gleasongrills  and welcome you to follow me there.  Thanks!

I know the addiction also. And found this site this morning looking for info on getting better. I have been using a wood burner now for about a year it is a big change from the barrel cookers. Love them both but my wood burner and me have a love hate relationship.lol looking forward to learning with everyone on this site.

Thanks guys.  Love the support.  Can't wait to start posting my cooks.

Hey J.  This is a tough question.  Lockhart's and Pecan Lodge are the top dogs in town.  You can't go wrong with either one but they each have their strengths.  Both make fantastic brisket.  I prefer Pecan Lodge's sausage but they're still pretty even.  Pecan Lodge makes their own and Lockhart's imports theirs from the famous Kreuz Market in Lockhart, TX.  The mac n cheese at Pecan Lodge is phenomenal.  Both have a bar but Lockhart's wins for their selection.  If you hit Pecan Lodge get there early because there is always a line.  Both open at  11am and serve until they run out.  Off the Bone has the best ribs in town.  Worth a trip if you have the time.  Happy eating and let me know what you think!  Pasted their websites below:

Thanks Joe.  I've already found some interesting and informative posts.  Excited to be here.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a wet and soggy day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
