Hey all,

My name is Andy and I live just north of Sarasota Fl. Until 6 months ago my only out door cooking was done on a gas grill. In March I ordered a pit barrel cooker and had my first experience with charcoal. I've used it quite a bit since, mainly for pulled pork. I have done ribs and chicken as well with good results. I want to move onto some real smoking with some new equipment. I'm here to soak up the knowledge and tips.

Welcome AG! We must be almost neighbors -- I'm in Bradenton near Hwys 70 & 301.

You've come to the right place to learn about smoking meats and other things. This place really helped me when I first started, and continues to! Tonight, I'm going to try a new recipe I got here for Smoked Meatloaf and some no-boil Mac & Cheese, that I've made before but got the recipe here.

Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions!
