I have been smoking for about 14 years with an off set smoker. 10 years with one from ACE Hardware, and the last 4 years with my Oklahoma Joe offset using a BBQ Guru. With all the burn ban we have had in Oklahoma I ventured out and bought an MES 40 from Sam's club to get my fix of BBQ. Put it together last Thursday, seasoned it, and did my first pork butt on Saturday, and it turned out great (will post pics on the electric smoker forum)! I did have the help of an AMNPS eliminating the need to add wood chips every 30 to 45 minutes making it a TRUE set it and forget it system.
Anyway, My name is JP (Johny Penny) and I LOVE to cook, and more so LOVE to eat what I cook, and there is nothing finer than a good cooked meal done on a smoker!
