Arkansas Smoker Wannabe

Hi I'm Wally (ArkieBiker) from Searcy, AR. I have only been smoking for a couple of months and just a few meats so far. I started out with and presently have the Cagin Injector Vertical Electric Smoker. I have had moderate success, but still "searching" for "my WAY" instead of changing the process each time.

I am also looking for another smoker...I want a horizontal smoker and will either get the Char-Broil Longhorn (yes, I know it needs mods), or an Oklahoma Joe (original) that I am negotiating with from another person here in Arkansas.

I prefer to smoke butts, ribs and pork loin.

That's about it for me.

Welcome aboard, Wally!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button.
