So... I follow the directions to the "T" but my AMNPS never seems to stay lit while in my MES 30. What might I be doing wrong?

A couple of things actually.  I always microwave my pellets for one minute let them rest and microwave for another minute.  This help remove any moisture that accumulates.  I am not familiar with the MES 30 but it may also be an air flow issue.  Ensure your chimney is open fully and you may have to open other vents as well.  Don't give up, the AMZNPS is a great product and it will work.

Do you have a gen 1 or gen 2 mes? The gen 2 has much less air flow.

I forget how to tell the difference between gen 1 and 2.

  9. Airflow. It's that's simple. I used mine three times this week to text, the first test it went out. The second and third i opened up all of the airflow and never had a problem since. I also let it burn outside the smoker for about 5 or so minutes.

  10. I have a gen 1 mes and an AMNPS which got used today. I first make sure to burn it outside for 5 to 10 minutes before blowing it out. Second and probably most important I pull the normal chip loader about 1/2 way out. I have had it go out but mostly I think that happens when I don't let it get started well enough first.

Same with my MES30, start the Amps well first, I set it on the floor of the smoker. Then pull the stock smoke tube out about 2" this creates more airflow.
