Hi all....looking for some help with my AMNPS CSG;

For the life of me, I cannot keep it smoking, I've followed the instructions to a tee, however, it wont stay lit for more than 20miins. I'm doing the ramp method, torched for 1min,get a good flame that dies well before the 10min deal....I blow on it to keep the red coals etc...and get a good thin smoke...but it dies out every time. The only difference from the instructions is I'm using MAP gas, but I run as low a flame as I can.

Need some helps....I've got a Country Ham and a Hungarian Salami that need 40hrs plus of smoke!

Please dont get me wrong....i'm a believer in this product...just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Thx Addertooth....I guess it'll help me in the long run...if I have to ditch my tray for a tube.....in the meantime I'll try microwaving my pellets?

Dingo007,

No harm in trying all the classical fixes:

Microwave pellets for a few minutes

Toast the pellets in the oven for an hour at 300

Remove pellet loader

Remove pellet burner tray

Rotate smoker to where the inlet hole faces the wind

Empty water tray

Make sure exhaust vent is wide open

Torch the pellets for two minutes to establish a good coal bed

Use a hot air gun to get a raging, roaring fire is going

Let burn for more than ten minutes

Try every possible position inside the MES

Build the mailbox mod

Make a chimney stack on the exhaust side

Sacrifice 3 doves, goats, calves, white stags, unicorns

...and hope for the best.
