Hey everybody. I thought I'd share a Monday night tradition with my SMF buddies. Amelia and I try to do these burgers every monday night come hell or high water. They are pepper heavy so if thats your M.O then give em a shot. I start with 80/20 ground beef and season with sea salt, lots of coarse black pepper, whats this here sauce, ground cayenne, chili flakes, garlic powder, and Texas Pete Hot Sauce. I patty them up nice and flat with some bread crumbs for binding purposes. I get the Genesis LP grill nice and hot and away we go. Grill about 5 minutes per side at around 400 degs or cook to your taste. I like my steak mid rare but I don' mess around with ground beef undercooked. The bacon goes on the George Foreman (the only thing we use it for) We like crispy bacon, toasted buns, muenster chhese and some good old Duke's mayo cause these burgers are spicy. Here they are.

Now that looks like one heck of a Mon night meal. Looks like you got it perfected, to bad NC is so far away. I would drop by to check and make sure they were safe to eat, just trying to help out.

Anytime Tom! Mondays are awful but then Monday night is always fun for us. Can't beat a beer and a burger.

Thanks Dean! Muenster is definitely our favorite for burgers. I like to get Boar's Head from the Deli at the teeter but Sargento does the job too when I'm shoppin at the lion.

Great looking burgers and that muenster cheese makes for a great topping!

Amelia is a very lucky woman!  and your taste in beer is good, too.  Red Hook way out in NC - I still think of them as our lil ol' microbrew!  That Long Hammer is one of my favorite IPA's.

Longhammer is great. We have it in our grocery stores now. We used to only be able to get it in specialty places. All of their beers I've tried have been great. Thank you for the kind words.

Those are some good looking burgers topped with cheese and bacon, oh yeah! and man I hear ya, there's gotta be a burger day in the week, Friday seems to be ours since we got the Stufz, with fries and a Coke, the chicken cordon bleu is an all time favorite, ...and would you mind sharing what your stuff in your pork burgers, that sounds interesting.

I don't mind at all Gene. I have on occasion made them just like the beef burgers in this post. The last few times I've done them I have used a carolina mustard based BBQ sauce. It's great just mix it in the ground pork patties and be sure to use some bread crumbs for binding. With the Pork burgers I like bacon and swiss. If they don't sell the sauce near you I'm sure you could make it from a web recipe. It's basically honey mustard.
