Howdy all!!

I'm from San Antonio, TX born and raised.  I've always wanted to learn how to cook with a smoker and the time is now.  My son and I are ready!  He's just as excited.  For X-Mas I wanted a smoker but, haven't purchased one yet, but I will soon.  Im looking at the Brinkman Trailmaster Vertical smoker I saw at HomeDepot.  Looking at what I've found and reading reviews, I think this is the one.

Our goal is to perfect some BBQ cooking of brisket, chicken, ribs and sausage in the next year.  Im excited about this time I'll have with my son and we look forward to the next year trying all the tips and tricks we'll be learning becoming a BBQ masters.  We welcome any and all advice.

Thank you and God bless,

Howdy and welcome to you and your son TXSH!  Ahhhh, San Antonio.  Courted my wife there in the late 70's.  River Walk magic must have worked.  She's still here!

There are lots of great people here always willing to share what they know.  I'm relatively new myself to smoking meat and SMF is filled with experience, advice, and good ideas.

Hello Fellow Texan and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.   Start with chicken, cheap and pretty easy
