Well it worked and didnt seem like it moved much if at all, everything still lines up. Looks much better now and added 2 and 3/4 inches above where the grate will sit. I also got the full RF plate and drain tacked in. Friday I'll be picking up the flat bar to seal the CC door. Once thats done I've got to figure out how I'm getting it off the bench.

Its looking great, brings back memories of my build.

Sorry about my suggestion earlier, in my haste I did not realize you had welded the plate and firebox in place. That's what I get for juggling different posts while at work.

I'm figuring it's at least 400 pounds as it sits. Still lots to do so there will be more weight.

I finished the food rack and anti tipping stops. Next is the exhaust plenum. Once that is done I'm going to use that hole and the CC door to run a chain thru with an engine hoist to get it down. Once I fab some legs and wheels I'll finish the CC door. I used inch and a half shaker screen for the grate.

Finished up the second rack. I used expanded metal for this one so I can put abt's on it without them falling through the grate. It doesnt have much head space 3 and a half inches in the center and 1 and a half at the edge, but it will be good for chicken thighs and sausages.

Fabbed the plenum tonight. I'm not sure where to place it though. Where it looks good is about level with my top rack. Which is 3 and a half inches from the top of CC. Does that sound good? I've been hoping Dave would chime in somewhere during my build. It wouldn't be possible without his help.

Kyle

At a stand still right now, waiting for the engine hoist to get it down. What's wrong with the vents? I've still got to add the upper vent on the door.

Kyle

Oh and yes I did put a drain in the RF plate. It's in the center, I sloped the 2 outer pieces of it to the center.

Also got the smoker off my bench today. I'm building legs tomorrow, and I'm going to tear the trailer apart and get it ready to mount the smoker. Almost there, I cant wait for some smoked meat.

Kyle

I decided not to go with that vent, I'm just going to make my own.
