-20 degrees and smoking a butt

I rubbed the butt down new years eve and was suppose to smoke it new years day but i stayed out too late the night before and didnt get started in time oh Well It was -20 this morning when I started its now -9 at 1:20 in the afternoon but the smoker is plenty warm and smoking its tough to tell what is smoke and what is steam. I will have more to show later hopefully. its nice and toasty out.

I threw in some brown sugar too but i used it all so didnt have any left for the pic. It smells and looks awesome. Spraying it down every hour or so with apple juice so hopefully its good cause it definetly sucks going outside right now.

Well its 10 o'clock and i just got done pulling it. Not bad for my first butt.I'm happy with it and now i know i can smoke even when its -20 out. not a whole lot of fun checking the temp but still great to be smoking.The wife and a couple of her friends approve. So that means i can keep spending money on meat and filling the chest freezer on good deals.

Your tougher than I .Like I say there aren't any bugs on a night like this.-22 in Mpls,mn.The kids and I just got in from the hot tub ,but I couldn't talk them into doing snow angels.The only hard part is opening the door your hand gets stuck to it a bit and you need to were a hat other than that the tubs @ 103* Nice job on the butts ,who says we don't know how to have fun in the cold.

Only my brother has the charger for his drill battery on his kitchen counter! Since when do we let our wives determine whether or not we can buy meat to smoke? Stop embarrassing the family! Keep your whipped comments private!!!! I won't even tell these guys that within only two or three months of getting married that she talked you into getting a cat!!! I might have to revoke your smoker owning privelages! :)

Yeah, you're all a bunch of warm water fish - except you Speu - You could be an Alaskan!

Fine smoker work in cold conditions Speu. I find that a hardy smoker doesn't find it so hard to get warm enough smoker temps, but its a lot less stable keeping proper and stable smoker temps when its more than 40 or 50 degrees colder than freezing.
