    "Jerky" cannon

I have a jerky cannon and only used it for snack sticks with the 19mm tube. it works great but it is a little difficult using the 19mm tube vs the one that came with it. I can fill it with 1 lb-1.5 lb and finish the sticks in under 5 minutes.

Making jerky with a jerky cannon

I have a Jerky Cannon and have only used it for snack sticks. I just can't get passed using g. meat for jerky. Those look really good. Might have to break down and give it a try. What's the texture like?

Mr T's "Smoked Cheese From Go To Show" w/ Q- View

Forgot to add, I only have a couple months to cold smoke cheese as it will start warming up here in the South around Mar/Apr. There will be a few days of cool weather through May but for the most part it will start getting HOT and HUMID. My plan is to get a few blocks smoked between now and...

Mr T's "Smoked Cheese From Go To Show" w/ Q- View

Thank you for the info. This weekend will be my first time smoking cheese. To be honest, I've only tried smoked cheddar and that was bought at Wally World two years ago while on vacation in FL. It was actually really good. I've been reading these cheese threads for a while now and have always...

Mr T's "Smoked Cheese From Go To Show" w/ Q- View

Thank you Mr T. I apprecaite your help. Great write up.  As for the wax, do you simply melt it and dip the cheese in it? Not familiar with the process. I don't have any fruit woods so I will be using pecan pellets. I find the flavor is fairly mild. I do have a mix of pellets that I picked up...

Mr T's "Smoked Cheese From Go To Show" w/ Q- View

I'm a bit confused about storage. Since I don't have a vac sealer yet, I will have to wrap in saran and then in a zip lock bag. This weekend, I will smoke a 1lb block of cheddar and either a 1lb block of mozz or hot pepper. My plan is to cut each block in half and cold smoke half of each for 1...

Smoke Vault and Wood on Fire

I have the 18" Smoke Vault and I use the AMNTS (12" tube). I have no problem with it staying lit and it smokes for about 4 hours. I do not use the cast iron wood tray that came with the smoker. But I mainly use this smoker for cold smoking and low temp smoking. I had issues with keeping the...

Mr T's "Smoked Cheese From Go To Show" w/ Q- View

Well, I guess this will be my next adventure. I do like cheddar and mozz so will probably try those maybe this weekend. I don't have a vac sealer yet so will just put in a zip lock as outlined by Mr T. I also don't have any fruit woods- i only have pecan pellets and a pellet mix I bought from...

    A-MAZE-N-PELLET-SMOKER will not stay lit

I have the AMNTS (12" tube) and use it in the Camp Chef Smoke Vault. No trouble staying lit. I put it on the lowest shelf and stays lit until all pellets are gone.

    Camp Chef Temp Control

I received my Smoke Vault last week.  I too had temp issues. Control knob set on low and temps crept up to 175-200. So I cut off the stock regulator and replaced with an adjustable regulator. I tested it today for a few minutes and it seems to work. Will not know for sure until this weekend...

    Propane hose questions

After looking at it a bit further, maybe it is a compression fitting and simply needs to be tightened. Remove the tape and tighten. The one I have is very similiar but it's not a compression fitting and mine does not leak.

    Propane hose questions

I have one like the one in the picture and it's not a compression fitting. It has regular threads. I used the yellow teflon tape and my connection does not leak.

    Propane hose questions

when I use my seafood boiler I never use a regulator-it may not be safe but never had a problem and I've been doing it that way for over 25 years. The yellow tape should solve the problem as it looks like the leak is coming from the threads. I have an adjustable regulator that I use for my...

    Propane hose questions

Did you use the yellow teflon tape or the white? Yellow is made for propane/gas. As for your second question, you will need to cut off the regulator. I had one like that (junk) and had to use a hose repair kit and then you can add your fittings.
