    Food Saver : V3840 or V3860 ?

    Decided to buy one or the other.Looking for some input with these units.Anyone have either of these ? Never used one but I know I have to make the move to keep my stuff last a bit longer.For the $60.00 bump is it worth it or just go with the V3840 ? Thanks

    Need Salt Cure For Jerky

    I ran out of salt cure that I have been using for a long time.I got it from an old butcher shop thats no longer around.On the bag it says : RE-LY-ON FAST CURE, Salt ,Sodium Nitrite 6% ,Sodium Nitrate 3% .I was using 2 TBS per 3 Lbs. of meat.What is the next best thing to use and at what rate.Thanks

    Hi ,have an old smoker that has a rusted bottom on it.All other parts in good shape including burner.I want to move into a Masterbuilt.I wuold like to find a bottom for my old timer and use it at the hunting shack.Any ideas for a round metal part to use as the base .If not ,its on the way out.Thanks

    Been smoking for awhile,mostly fish and experiment batches of items in a smoking book I pick up when I have time.Smoked peanuts are a hit with everyone.Been using an old Charbroil (second burner) Looking at the Masterbuilt for my next buy.Lots of good stuff on this site.Well that about does it.
