Has anyone smoked a Duck?
My buddy has purchased a duck and we were wondering if anyone had smoked a duck before. If so, what seasoning did you use and what temperature did you cook it to? We were thinking of putting a pan of potatoes, cut for frying, under the duck to catch the fat. Any thoughts would be appreciated. -
Taylor programmable Probe with remote powering off too early
I found out it has an auto off feature that turns it off after 30 minutes if there is no change in temp. Guess I'll have to look for another unit.- Top2MP

Taylor programmable Probe with remote powering off too early
I have a Taylor programmable probe with remote that shuts itself off after about 30 to 40 minutes. Very frustrating to have to go to the smoker every little while to start the probe again. Anyone else having that issue? Oh, it's the Connoisseur model. Thanks- Top2MP

Boy, were you guys right about the temp gauge on the smoker! Mine is showing 160 or so, and my probe shows 225. No wonder my wood was burning. Thanks again. -

Thanks for the help, everyone. I will get an oven temp gauge. For today, i will use a meat thermometer, but not in the ribs, so I can check the internal temp of the smoker. -
