Hi All,

My name is Pat. I'm originally from Philly and have been living in Orange County California for the past 10 years. I love to cook in general and entertain friends regularly. I'm new to smoking (besides using a smoker block on propane) and can't wait to get started. I just purchased a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker and in anticipation of it arriving, I thought I would do some research. The site looks to be very informative and all I'll need to get started and learn some about the craft. I'm also an avid craft beer geek and hold regular tasting sessions with a small group who share the same passion. I'm really looking forward to blowing them away in the future with some excellent BBQ.

There is a beer forum on here but not one geared towards pairings. You can always start a post about it. It is a very interesting subject.
