Need Help W/Damper For Fridge Build

If anyone can help with designing my damper for my new fridge build. I have a 3" pipe exhaust out the top & want to add a damper to it. I have the piece cut for it, but need some direction in getting it built into the pipe. Pics would be a great help also.

Not sure really...my drawing is very crude at best...why not

1 - Drill a hole in the pipe

2 - insert damper

3- run a bolt through the hole above the damper

4 - wield it to the damper piece

5- wield a lever to the bolt opposite of the bolt head.

dunno...see what you think...or anyone else for that matter.
