Well I have been trying to find time to make up some sausage. Was not even sure what I was making. Well after going through the freezer I decided on Venison Summer Sausage and Shooters Rick's Brat with cheddar cheese.

I got to put two new toys to use.
Th summer sausage was a venison pork blend and the Brats were all pork. Had my little helper off of school so I had plenty of help.

Here is my oldest feeding the new grinder

The kids commented this works so well it took our job away, in comparison to our Kitchen Aid grinder. :)

The kids working as a team. I love the mixer, It says 20 lbs but we put it to the test and mixed up 25 lbs of Venison and Pork for summer sausage.

11 lbs of pork and 14 lbs of venison all cures, spiced and ready for stuffing.

Ran out of synthetic casing so used some natural ones for the last few lbs, Hanging so they can dry.

Love my new tubs. Into the refrigerator until I smoke them on Sunday.

Hustling to get everything done I forgot to take pictures of the brats, Until next time.

Thanks for looking,

Robert

Great times with the kids helping.  Mine are home for the holidays and we got to make some Q (posts coming later)  what a good time.

Oh and you will definitely love that grinder over the kitchen aide!

Now thats the way to do it and get the kids going / helping with the creating of some good sausages. I can't wait to see the end products. I'm using my newly made andouille into some good ole Cajun Gumbo using Bob "Eman" recipe I got from Jerry's gathering in Fla.

I do these two little creatures our life. I hope to teach them good work ethics and to be life long learners. This is just a step in many adventures with them.

Good looking sausage there Fish! And it's great you have some future sausageheads there!

Looks great Robert!  But with helpers like that, how could you fail? A new generation of sausage makers coming on board.

Good luck and good smoking.
