The sister in law had her birthday yesterday and decided she wanted burnt ends.  I had a couple of points in the freezer so I made it happen.  One had a spicy rub, and the other was a first run with a cocoa based rub.  The cocoa rub shows some real promise, I need to spice it up a bit tough.

Just goin on some cherry wood and RO Lump at 235* for four hours

looks good from here   is the tidy cat a secret ingrediant?

LOL I was waiting for someone to comment on that.  It actually is what I use to store my gloves, starting gel, steel brush, etc in.  But it is also the perfect height to set my mavericks on.

Thanks for all the posts boys

Burnt Ends = "Cow Candy"

Looks Fantastic!

What temp did you pull?

Aaron,

Mighty good work there, looks great!

But remember the tidy cat ration needs to be halved due to the higher quality of it, compared to the traditional clay based cat litters.  My nephews cannot normally taste it in their food.  But it sure is fun to watch them looking for it when we tell them we put it in the food.

Those things are soooo handy!!!

I use one for my grill brushes, to keep the grease off my porch.

I also use them in my meat freezer, when I do big amounts of vacuum packed things like sliced bear loaf, or sliced Bacon.

Keeps my Freezer neat.

They got done faster than expected, but I pulled with IT of 180-185 foiled and put in cooler for a couple of hours.  They dropped to 160 ish and I threw them back in the oven for about 30 min at 240 and they came back up to 180ish and I threw them in the cooler for another thirty, then sliced and chopped.

Yes they are so handy, I get them from a friend that has house cats.  I use them all over the place, I have about twenty in my garage they stack so nice too.  Never thought about using them in the freezer.  Good idea

Yup---The fact that they are rectangular, instead of round (like a bucket) means they don't have a lot of wasted space between them, and like you said, They stack real nice in my chest freezer.

Then for smaller amounts of things, I put that in plastic shopping bags. Then since my Son supplies me with all colors of electrical tape, I have a list of meats, with a different color tape next to each meat, and the corresponding color tape on the bag or box with that meat in. This way, I don't have to keep the freezer door open long to hunt what I'm looking for.   Works Great !
