I have been wanting to make some Pulled Pork since I got addicted to smoking. I decided to make some for the Pittsburgh Steelers game on Sunday, Thanks to the help from some great members on here I have some totally incredible Pulled Pork on the counter right now. TANK, thanks for the sauce recipe. The family loves it.

I started out with 10 pound butt and cut it in half to help with cooking time. I used a rub of brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, BBQ spice, minced onion, and chili powder. Into the smoker at 230 degrees at 3 pm with some hickory.

After hitting 100 degrees internal I started spraying a mixture of apple juice and crown royal every half hour.

Once I hit 165 internal I wrapped in foil and poured some of my juice/ whiskey combo in with the meat.

9 hours later I hit 195 with smoker temps at 230-240 all day.

I wrapped the meat in towels and let rest for one hour in the microwave. After cooling slightly I pulled it. It just fell apart in my fingers. It was so juicy and flavorful that I could have skipped the finishing sauce, but since I already made it earlier I used it. This is some of the best pulled pork I have ever had. My son is a major fan of pulled pork but could not stay awake long enough to try the finished product. This is one that I would not change even one thing the next time I make it. Now the trick is to to see if any even makes it until game time Sunday when everybody shows up.

Looks good.  I am glad you like the sauce.  I think pulled pork is always better the day after so you are in for a treat.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Mama, the company I work for is based out of Johnstown. They had 8 inches of snow overnight. I could never handle that amount of snow.

I don't know if it was quite 8" but pretty darn close. That real wet sloppy stuff, that you have to slow down in when you drive. I work in Johnstown, have about a 35 minute drive to work, today was  more like 45. It will probably be in the 60's next weekend.

Lookin good! Whats in the sauce you made?
This is a copy of the recipe sent to me by Tank. We really like it. I put this on right after pulling and we are also going to have some bottled sauce out for choices for everyone.

  West Carolina Vinegar Sauce:
2 c. cider vinegar
1/2 c plus 2 tbsp ketchup
1/4 c firm packed brown sugar
5 tsp salt
4 tsp hot red pepper flakes
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp ground white pepper
- Combine all ingredients and whisk together. Use immediately or refrigerate overnight for more developed taste

Do you boil or heat it first or just stir and use?

PP looks nice!  I especially like the whiskey spray.  Not sure if I would be able to go the whole time without sampling from the bottle!!
