As we approach almost 40 continuous days of 100°+ temperatures, these things are more and more common.  He was on the edge of the street when I pulled in tonight.  R.I.P.

Ya'll sure are hot we've been hot but not that hot. Stay safe in that stuff it doesn't take long to get overheated in those temps

Some Canadian air finally got sucked down into Minnesota, and our weather broke.

Yesterday was in the high 70's and low humidity

Pops, morning.........Is there any "bright" side to the heat you can forsee.......Maybe it will do in the mosquitos or something.

It has been so Hot here In Houston my kids are about to kill me because they can't play outside.  I can't work on building Drum smokers after 10 in the morning.  My lawn is starting to look like the Mojave Dessert.  I think the Devil just bought the house next door from me.

Try to stay in the AC, and drink a little extra!!!

Like Todd, we finally got a few days down in the 80s & one or two in the high 70s.

Got a mess of needed rain in the last couple days too!

Well, you don't have to mow as much!  We have 4 seasons here in Fort Worth :  brown, green, brown and green (winter, spring, summer, fall).  Sure beats NNY winters that are -45° below zero - you can not get warm and you deal with the ice and snow and thaws and runoff and everything else.  Here, as long as you maintain your air conditioner, the most you're subjected to is when you have to walk across the street and get your mail, and if you're smart, you'll wait until after dark to do that in as little clothes as it takes, lol!

Mosquitoes gather around stagnant water - there ain't no water stagnating anywhere out in the open, lol!  They're not a problem!

Well, in the time it's taken me to answer this,  it's risen from 89° to 92°, better get out there and trim the bushes before the sun gets high!  Yard work cuts down to a ¼ from the spring .... yay!

I'm trying to build a new tractor/ BBQ shed and a  bedroom for SELA at the end of October,  I can work from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and then it is to darn hot to be out of the AC.  Hope the weather breaks by the beginning of October like it normally does.  Not to mention that with this heat when we get rain in the afternoon you can watch the grass grow.  No lie, grass growing 12 inches in a week.

Wish we were getting some of that rain down here Al.

Were in the 90's everyday, which is normal, but were not getting any rain & we need it badly.

Spend most of the day in the A/C or in the pool.

Well Al

You missed Emile,  want to make a bet that we get another chance at some of that tropical rain in the next 8 weeks?

Its been HOT here also but at least we have been getting late afternoon showers with mid afternoon temps 102 to 107* heat index 120*...I am going to have to get me some squirrels this fal for some dumplings and stew...

I hope so, just a nice wet tropical storm that dumps about 16" of rain would be perfect.

Just don't want a Cat 5 rolling thru here.
