Thanks to ECTO for letting me remain lazy and building me a UDS.  My wife at first thought I was nuts when I came home with a "garbage can", but with a some nice pointers on some good ole chicken from ECTO and also a side of Moinks, she was quickly a believer.  Next weekend is pork butt and maybe some ribs.  Pics arent too good, but I was snapping with my Motorola Xoom tablet to see how they would come out.

Looks great. and it doesn't matter how long you took as long as your wife enjoyed it.
 
Thanks guys.  Didnt think smoking could be this easy.  Tried it on the kettles many times in the past and got fed up with the flame up and temp consistency issues.  No longer a problem with the ole drum.
 
Glad you liked the smoker.....really glad your wife liked the chicken. That brine makes all the difference in the world if you ask me. Any help you need with that smoker just let me know. Thanks for supporting my BBQ habit.

The Woman sez  "Gack!!! You already have three smokers!!"

I moved over to the Lang page...  she then sez......"Those drum thingies look pretty cool!!"

I know the feeling Craig.  I need to get rid of one of mine to make some room!  It definitely wont be the UDS though.

I thought I would do that but I think it may be the Genesis that goes.  I hardly ever use it since I got the Performer.  Then I will keep the spare blue rhino propane tank and hardline it to the Performer to do away with the mini propane bottles.

That's what I would do. I can not stand my gas grill. has not been used in a long time, needs to go.
