Hi everyone,

My name is Glenn.

My Brother-in-Law received a smoker for Christmas.

He was indifferent to the contraption.

I have been stuffing it full of everything I can find ever since.

I am an avid fisherman, competent home cook and professional sign/font designer.

I imagine the designer thing carries no weight around here, but,

fisherman/cook may.

In my opinion, Yellowfin Tuna belly, (the side flaps of meat around the gut cavity) is the best tasting smoked fish product ever.

I have only had nibbles of it. Somehow there are seldom enough leftovers

to share with all in line for the scraps.

Hopefully I will soon have a thread to share.

I have an eight day sport fishing trip booked out of my home port of San Diego

next month. Traveling down the Mexican coast in search of WaHoo,

Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna.

Boats have been starting to get Yellowfin in the 180 pound range.

I have poked around the web and this site seems to be the Mecca

of smoking know how.

I will do my homework... reading all of the material you have available.

I may still ask some stupid questions.

I look forward to learning.

-Glenn

Ask any questions you want, the only dumb question is the one not asked. Looking forward to seeing some of that smoked yellowfin! Happy fishing and glad to have you aboard.

They are hooking 220+ pounders two days south of me right now.

I am going to take a few days to investigate this site.

Get an idea of the territory.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

Welcome to SMF Glen. Glad to have you here with us. Where do you live? I see you are going out of San Diego for some fishing. One of my favorites that is being caught later in the season off the Mexico boats is Wahoo.

I'm in Imperial Beach, CA.

The most Southwesterly City in the Continental U.S.

Pacific Ocean on the West, Mexico on the South.

The absolute SW Corner of the 48 States.

The City of San Diego is 12 freeway minutes North.

WaHoo... the 60mph screaming hookup that nightmares are made of. ...

My favorite too. Next to Albacore, YT, Blue Fin, Big Eye, etc.
