St Louis  trimmed 9 racks of spares yesterday.

Made a BIG( gallon zip lock allmost full) batch of my pig rub for them.

rubbed them down and in the fridge last nite for a smoke today.

Went out at 7 am to get my MES out the shed and get it pre heated for the smoke .

Opened it up and it was FULL of mold of assorted colors and thickness.

My son had used it to smoke some wings and didn't clean or empty the water pan b4 storing.

spent the last 4 hrs getting clean  .

Washed everything that i could in the sink and since i have to smoke ribs today i didn't want to use bleach in it. used white vinegar and scrapped and washed and sprayed it out.

 That was a nasty job.

Got it clean and heating up now. Ribs should have been on at 9 am and it's now 1 pm.

guess it will be 2 before i can get the ribs on.

Sounds like someone got some explaining to do. Good luck Bob

 imagin that.

Aint that a day wrecker, just when you thought you could smoke some ribs and have a beer and relaxe all of sudden you got to work.

may be you should take some of that mold and plate it. Then tell you smoked ribs and there is his. Bet he wont do that again

Kids!  My dad threw the separator rings in the horse tank.  Fortunately my grandfather let him live or I wouldn't be here.  LOL

He came home and i chewed his butt. Ribs gave me a tough go today.

i don't usually use the 3-2-1 method I just smoke till i get the pull back i want and they pass the bend test.

Today they went 6 hrs @225 w / pecan, sprayed w/ apple cider every hour after the first 2 hours.came out tender and juicy . passed the bend test but had very little pull back.

oh well ,They are good .that's all that matters.

High time he buys his own smoker; then he can treat or mistreat it as he wants and leaves your's alone.  Let him clean up his own mess a few times on his own equipment and he'll have a learning experience.

It's not only Kids. I was camping years ago and i came home on a Sunday got me a piece of meat ready for my Weber and found out some of the neighbors decided to use my grill as a fire pit. They burnt a bunch of treated pine in it. Man I was mad as you know what. No One ever admitted to it. They all said they didn't know how it happened. Took alot of hardwood to get that smell out.

Kids, kids, kids----Yet we love them so----so hard to keep from spoiling them!

How'd that go?-----"You toucha my smoka, I breaka you head!"
