Yep taylors have worked for me, you can usually get'em pretty cheap. I just picked up 2 more for $13.99 each, free shippingNot a big fan of maverick stuff even though I have 2 of them. If you are going wired then taylor makes a tough unit. Regardless the best prices I found for the ET73 was online. I did see them out but all I remember is they were grossly overpriced.

I just had one go, was reading 150 degrees at room temp, no wonder my brisket seemed to cook waty too quick LOLI have four of the Taylor units with single batteries, that I got from Target, and 3 of the probes have gone bad for me-they read way off...I don't know if I got them too wet cleaning them or what? I emailed Taylor, and that is what they said was most likely the problem. Anyone else had this problem? These are all 2 to 3 yrs old...is there some other brand that is a little better quality, or is this a normal thing that was my fault? It seems stupid to me that the probes can't get too wet, or they go bad. Too wet? Are you sh***ing me?! What a bunch of...
